About Me

Hello, I’m Robyn, a children’s author, illustrator and creator of joyful things based in Kent, UK.
I write and illustrate children’s books, colouring/ activity printouts and creative gifts designed to spark imagination, laughter and a little bit of everyday magic.
If I’m honest… I’m really just someone who never stopped colouring in!
From childhood doodles to children’s books
As a child I loved painting, colouring and was often told off for daydreaming… Unlike most people, I never really grew out of it! My imagination has always been my default place to hang out.
Now a parent of two young children, that creativity and playfulness was just waiting for an excuse to rush back out even stronger.
Reading bedtime stories every night, my son noticed something interesting: Many of the books looked very similar.
That made me wonder…
What if I could create some children’s books that felt a little different?
• With more meaning.
• A little more fun for the parents to read.
• A little more joy for the kids, to make that special reading time even more memorable.
So I decided to give it a go.
I wanted to show my son that you don’t have to be an expert to give something a go. You just need to put your heart into it.
Books, creativity and inspiring little imaginations
Since then I’ve self-published two children’s books, Humphrey The Hedgehog and Big Dave The Dragon. Characters and quirky illustrations I’ve lovingly created, with a fun story and soft lesson for young kids useful when growing up and learning about others and the world. All based on experience from parenting my small awesome people.
My goals are:
- To inspire young folk
- Encourage imagination and creativity
- Give children fun activities away from screens
The mission is simple, to bring joy.
Visiting schools and sharing stories
One of the best parts of being a children’s author is meeting young readers.
I was lucky enough to be invited to deliver an author talk at a local primary school for World Book Day, and visit a Preschool to read my first book to the children. Seeing the kids laugh, use their imaginations and tell me they want to create their own characters and stories is the best reminder of why storytelling matters. Hearing from the kids and parents how I’d inspired the children inspired me right back to carry on what I’m doing! Creativity is powerful stuff!
Creativity isn’t about being the best. It’s about giving things a go.
Whether that’s writing a story, drawing a dragon, colouring in a picture or making something completely silly — those little creative moments are always where the magic happens.
Thank you for your support, curiosity and for being here ✨.
